As an undergrad, Dominique was a history major and philosophy minor, and she studied abroad in Japan for a year. She loved her time there so much that she returned to teach English for a year after she graduated as well. Since then, Dominique has completed an M.S. in Sociology, looking at how study abroad impacts students' sense of self-identity. Currently, she is pursuing a Ph.D. in Education, with an interest in exploring the relationship between language and narratives and how students make meaning of their embodied experiences abroad. Dominique has been advising for study abroad since 2007, and has also had the delight of leading two groups of freshmen to Tokyo on a winter break program, Japan: Me, Myself, and We.
