Global Seminar Student Process

Application Period

Starting an application allows you to show interest in the program and to learn information related to financial aid and more. Within the application you have access on how to set up an appointment with your study abroad advisor if you wish.

Completing your application in full holds your spot in the case of high enrollment. If you decide to withdraw prior to the deadline, your application fee of $150 is refunded. You must email to request the refund.

Application Deadline Passes

After the deadline passes, we will process acceptances for eligible students who have completed their applications in full as long as the program has reached minimum participant capacity. Students will receive an automated acceptance email outline the next steps on how to commit.


All students who are accepted will login to either Commit their participation or Decline within 7 days. You must read through the commitment letter in full to review the Participant Withdrawal Policy, and then click the commit button to confirm your participation. If you decide to decline you are still required to login to indicate your choice. The $150 application fee is non-refundable.

Post-Decision Requirements

There may be additional required items to complete, such as enrollment through a provider. If that is the case, you will receive instructions on how to complete that process. You should only complete this step once you have committed to attending.

Course Enrollment

Enrollment will not occur for approximately 3-4 weeks after the deadline. Permits will be issued to the committed students and instructions will be sent on how to claim your permit. Costs for the program are billed automatically upon enrollment in the course, but are due following the normal tuition payment deadlines.

Financial Aid/Loans

Our office will send the budget information for all global seminar programs around the same time as course permits are issued. Financial aid will not process the paperwork for you until you are both committed AND enrolled in the global seminar class. This is the process happens automatically for all global seminar students to update your Cost of Attendance to allow you to use aid or apply for loans. For students who already know how the loan process works, there is no need to meet with a financial aid advisor individually.
